A Guide to Stamped Concrete

Patterning, texturing or embossing concrete are processes that gives you stamped concrete. Your stamped concrete can have the appearance of brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood and other kinds of patterns and textures.  Stamped concrete is a great flooring to use on patios, sidewalks, driveways, pool decks and interior flooring.  You can choose from among a wide selection of designs for your stamped concrete because it is very flexible. Stamped concrete is something very attractive and affordable that you can use this instead of using other materials like brick, slate or stone.

The procedures for making stamped concrete has more steps that the usual concrete procedures. Introducing the base color is the first step in the procedure.  You next add a highlight color to accent it and finally you create the pattern that is stamped into the concrete. The above procedures are the ones that provide Stamped Concrete Lopatcong with its color, shape and texture.

You can use a base color as a primary color to your Stamped Concrete Lopatcong.  The number of colors to choose from is unlimited. Introducing color to the concrete involves two major methods. The first thing you can do is to sprinkle a color hardener onto the concrete. Color hardener is actually a powder pigment to dye the concrete by literally throwing it onto the surface of the concrete.  The color hardened is sprinkled as soon as it is floated for the first time. Mixing the hardener with the surface concrete is the next thing to do. While it is only the surface that is covered by the color, the advantage of this is that the concrete surface has a longer wear life. The other method is called integrally colored concrete. The color hardener is mixed with the entire volume of concrete before it is poured out. The advantage of this method is that the entire concrete is colored, but the top surface is not as strong as the first method.

You can then apply highlight color for base color enhancement.  Like shading in our art works, highlighting concrete base colors adds the same effect. You can do the color highlighting during the time when the concrete is poured, or you can wait until after the concrete has set.

Concrete stamping is simply putting the pattern on the concrete surface.  Once the concrete is almost set, a concrete stamp in placed on top, pushed, and removed to leave the pattern onto the surface of the concrete for a patterned finish.

Concrete stamping is indeed a perfect way of beautifying parts of our home.
